There are many techniques, tips and tricks on Internet and YouTube on how can I calm my mind but in practice there is not much benefit of these techniques.
They look good in the beginning and make a positive impression on mind but after some time you will realize the they don’t yield expected results. Reason being that you really know the benefit of a technique you need to practice it over a long period of time and teacher should be an authentic person.
Purpose of teaching the technique should not be to make money but for the benefit of humanity.
Nowadays, many people also give lot of advice like control your mind. Some say don’t take tension. Just Chill and relax
But they themselves cannot tell how not to take tension.
Everyone tells what to do but no one tells how to do it!
Like be pure, control your mind and do the right thing.
Don’t think in this way or that way but despite doing all this still thoughts of mind don’t go away.
Every morning you wake up , these thoughts fill up and create turbulence in the mind.
Now, let us understand the concept that why there is this turbulence and turmoil in the mind.
Turbulence and turmoil in the mind depends upon intensity of your liking and disliking towards people, things and situation.
If you observe in life you will notice that your mind is most agitated when you like someone a lot or hate someone a lot.
If you can be more neutral towards likes and dislikes, your mind can be more balanced and calm.
Also, It has many benefits of having fair approach, making high quality decisions, properly understand situation and people and most importantly peace of mind.
It is also possible that you may have not even experienced real peace of mind because to know it you need to experience it and feel it.

So, the answer is that most effective and the only way of how can I calm my mind is Meditation.
Simply put There is no other way.
If someone teaches any other way then it is a myth and you cannot attain good results in the long run
